Gilbert Kun-Kau WONG, Founder and CEO
Mr. Wong is the Founder and CEO of Bull Capital, responsible for Bull Capital’s overall business strategy and management. Mr. Wong plays a key role in sourcing investment opportunities with his extensive corporate network in the Greater China Region.
Mr. Wong has 44 years of experience in fund management, securities broking and corporate finance, involving securities origination, underwriting and placing of equities and equity-linked products, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and re-organizations, and other general corporate advisory activities.
Prior to forming Bull Capital, he was the Head of Investment Banking – Asia of BNP Paribas Capital (Asia Pacific) Limited, having initially joined Peregrine Securities Limited in 1992. Throughout his 15 years of career with Peregrine / BNP Paribas, Mr. Wong led IPO and secondary market offerings of USD23 billion for HK/China companies. Under Mr. Wong's management, BNP Paribas Capital (Asia Pacific) Limited was named by IFR Asia, FinanceAsia and The Asset as the best Mid-Cap Equity House in Asia. From 2002 to 2006, five deals sponsored by BNP Paribas Capital (Asia Pacific) Limited were named the Asian Mid Cap Equity Deal of the Year by FinanceAsia and The Asset.
Mr. Wong is currently an independent non-executive director of two Hong Kong-listed companies, Huaxin Building Materials Group Co., Ltd. and REF Holdings Limited, and has previously been an independent non-executive director of Hong Kong-listed companies, West China Cement Limited and Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited, and also a non-executive director of Sun King Power Electronics Group Limited, a portfolio company of the fund managed by Bull Capital.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Wong is deeply committed to charitable work. He serves as a Director of Bull Foundation Limited, a registered charitable organisation in Hong Kong, which aims to support various charities in Hong Kong for the relief of poverty, advancement of education and other purposes for the benefit to the community. Mr. Wong is also an Honorary Vice Chairman of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong-Foundation and Vice Chairman of Sing Yin Secondary School Education Foundation, demonstrating his dedication to education and community development.
